Grain Storage Tank

Hopper Bottom Silos are generally built on fabricated steel structures with the conical bottom made of steel plates and the corrugated sheets performed are assembled with bolts and nuts on circular purlins and vertical stiffeners with waterproof washers, cylindrically above the conical hopper with a sloped roof in the top. Ladders to climb and get into the silos, handrails, manholes etc are provided. The grains will be discharged by gravity to the bucket elevator/belt conveyor for onward conveying. These silos can also be built on the top of the concrete conical hopper with beams and columns built in situ.

Aeration, ventilation, temperature monitoring system as required are all provided to the built hopper bottom silo. Normally these  steel Silo are recommended for storage up to 500 tones of grains like paddy having the density of less than 550kg/m3.

Alloy Steel Coating Zincalume® steel has an alloy coating of 55% Aluminum, 43.5% Zinc and 1.5% Silicon which is carried out at 600 degree C hence more uniform and strong. Durability The alloy coating of Zincalume steel provides excellent corrosion resistance properties and can withstand Salt Spray Test of 2000 hours whereas GI 350 GSM can withstand a salt spray test of 500 hours.

Average Life of Zincalume Silo is an approximately 40-50 years as against 15-18 years of Galvanized Steel Silos having same coating thickness.

Excellent Thermal Reflectivity

Wallter Makes Zincalume Steel Silo has excellent Thermal Reflectivity of Solar Heat to reduce heat radiation inside. Hence Zincalume absorb only 4-5 % heat against GI Silo that absorbs 22-26%. Hence Grains in Zincalume Silo are approximately 4 degree cooler that GI Silo.

Long Lasting Lecture and Service Life.

Average life of Zincalume Silo is approximately 40-50 years as compared to GI Silo which gives only 15-18 Years with same thickness.
